Since 2009 Three Treasures Institute has offered post-graduate education through a series of continuing education classes for Chinese medicine practitioners. In 2022, we became a registered non-profit, expanding our mission to include access to holistic medical care and restorative agriculture through developing community and school gardens.

PERSPECTIVES LECTURE SERIES: Herbal & Functional Medicine

This course was a five part series offered that covered Chinese and Western understanding of the five Zang organs (Heart, Lungs, Spleen/Digestive System, Liver & Kidneys) in both states of disease and health.  

The Five Zang Organs in a State of Health: Lifestyle & Dietary Support taught by Liu Ming, teacher, author and founder of Da Yuan Circle. Functional & Biomedicine, Labs & Nutrition portion taught by Jim Cross, ND, LAc, Herbal Treatment of the Zang Organs taught by Brian Kie Weissbuch, founder of KW Botnanicals.

 

HERBS IN CONTEXT

This monthly series taught by Dr. Jasmine Rose Oberste examined Chinese herbal medicine in the greater cyclical context in which we live including the Chinese solar-lunar calendar and the cultural, philosophical and historical context from which Chinese medicine developed. Generally in TCM much emphasis is placed on the pathological process. This class emphasized the body in balance, exploring what is healthy physiology.
